New Opera Workshop Performance - "The Thirteenther"

where:
Alumni Concert Hall, College of Fine Arts
5000 Forbes Avenue Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15213

WHO:
Peter Hiliard, Composer & Matt Boresi, Librettist
Robert Wood, Artistic Director

DESCRIPTION:
A one-man militia and a rookie federal agent stand off in a most un-militant of locations: a provincial ceramic mug museum. Hanging in the balance is the fate of a delicate antique... and the soul of our country.  Inspired by actual events and the United States' long history of paranoid thinking, The Thirteenther is a satirical but heartfelt examination of the fallout that occurs when the American Dream fails to materialize. This new piece, workshopping at Carnegie Mellon School of Music and premiering at DC's UrbanArias in 2018, features a bluegrass-infused score that brings American roots to the operatic stage.

COST: Free and open to the public
