Pittsburgh International Piano Competition - 2021 Winners Announced

Students from the Carnegie Mellon Music Preparatory School competed in the Fifth Annual Pittsburgh International Piano Competition from May 23-30, 2021, held online for a second year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Students were required to present two pieces of contrasting style and were evaluated by distinguished jurors who are world-class performers and educators. Winners are invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City on July 24, 2022. 

Students from CMU's Preparatory School took home multiple awards in the solo and duet competitions, including the Grand Prizes in the Children A and B, and Youth B age groups.

Children A: 8 years old and younger
Children B: 9-12 years old
Youth A: 13-15 years old
Youth B: 16-18 (or high school senior)
